Harold (Harold Norbert Cheever Doris McGrady V), labeled The Dweeb of the group, was a camper on Total Drama Island on the Killer Bass team. He was a cast member on Total Drama Action and used to be on the Screaming Gaffers.
[edit] Biography
[edit] Total Drama Island
Harold is a rather tall red-head who wears glasses, sports a goatee, and is deemed socially awkward. Although he is mostly called a nerd, he is unaffected by outside influence and considers himself a "loner by choice" in the special. He has had some outdoor skills due to being a possum scout (having earned all the badges available, as shown in his audition tape). He also took figure skating lessons before joining the competition, this is mentioned in Dodgebrawl. Harold highly resembles Napoleon Dynamite in the way that he talks, saying "Awesome," "Gosh!", and "Idiots!" in his appearance, although he does resemble John Heder in general.
In Dodgebrawl, somebody drew on his face (Likely courtesy of Duncan as stated by himself later) and we learn that he has a few medical problems, snoring out loud and a severe allergy to apples. Harold has shown to be the underdog of the Killer Bass, although he has proved on many occasions that he is able to save his team when they are suffering in certain challenges. The first occasion was in Dodgebrawl when he was the only person left on his team and caught Owen's ball, winning the point for his team and their first win overall. One episode later, he used his beat-boxing skills to score perfectly on the Chef-O-Meter in the talent contest, earning another win for the Killer Bass. At the end of Not Quite Famous, Gwen asks him about his red ant farm and later dumps it into Heather's bed. It is appropriate that Harold has been labeled the underdog, since his most significant victories are ones he earned in situations where the odds were heavily stacked against him. Although he is afraid of ninjas, he showed no fear when he was forced to face his phobia in person while he was in the bathroom in Phobia Factor. If he not accidentally knocked himself unconscious with his nunchaku, he likely would have faced his fear successfully.
In Up The Creek, Harold got paired up with Duncan and Sadie while riding the canoes to Boney Island. In Paintball Deer Hunter, Harold was a paintball hunter for the Killer Bass, along with Geoff and Bridgette. Bridgette didn't like the idea of shooting people, but Harold then reminded her that Heather was a deer, which convinced Bridgette to participate in the challenge, indirectly winning the challenge. Later, Harold, Geoff and Bridgette spotted the paintball fight between LeShawna, Heather and Beth and start shooting at the latter for fun just as the announcement that the hunt is over.
In If You Can't Take The Heat..., Duncan wakes up and notices Harold's used underwear inches from him. Harold denies the underwear is his even though DJ points out his mom sewed his name on them and as Harold leaves to take a shower, Duncan, Geoff and DJ decide to teach Harold a lesson. Later, Geoff secretly picks up one of Harold's used briefs with a stick before going back to the kitchen and signaling DJ, who deliberately spills a bucket of water on Harold. Harold says "Smooth move, Dorkahontas." and Geoff says Harold better change. Later, Duncan and Courtney quibble but are interrupted by Harold entering wearing his thong underwear with nothing over them and wanting to know who took all of his shorts. Later, Harold is told by the guys to go back to the cabin for a pair of underwear and shorts but is unaware the guys have soaked the underwear with hot sauce and when he puts them on, he yells "My biscuits are burning!" and plunges into the lake shortly afterward. Harold enters the kitchen wearing pajamas but still refuses to acknowledge leaving his underwear around the cabin. Harold takes a bite out of a sandwich offered to him by Geoff, and discovers his underwear in the sandwich Geoff then says they'll return his clothes when Harold admits to leaving his underwear all over the cabin.
Later, Duncan, Geoff, and DJ drag Harold's bed to the dock while Harold is sleeping. The next day, Harold wakes up stark naked (Thanks to DJ, Geoff, and Duncan for forcing Harold naked) and at the boat dock in presence of the girls (Heather, Courtney, LeShawna, Lindsay, Bridgette, Gwen, and Sadie) who are swimming in the lake giggling at him and Harold shrieks with embarrassment and covers himself with a pillow and says he'll never leave his underwear around again like before and begs for his clothes back. With that, he gets his pants back and runs to the cabin, hiding himself, to get dressed.
Duncan didn't prank him in Who Can You Trust? but in the following episode, Basic Straining, Duncan started to prank him again. In that episode, Harold emerges from the guys' cabin and demands to know who made s'mores with his underwear. Duncan and Geoff laugh in glee at this question and Courtney recoils in disgust when Harold throws the underwear near where she is standing. Later, Geoff uses a fishing line to rip away Harold's underwear, to Harold's consternation. After the first challenge, Geoff and Duncan give Harold a glass of apple juice that Harold discovers is actually kitchen grease. After Courtney and Duncan snuck some food, Harold finds a happy face made of peanut butter smeared in his bed.
He is primarily a target of Duncan's pranks. But when someone really get on his nerves, he will find revenge. He was the reason why Courtney was voted off by switching the original votes with forged ones that mostly called for Courtney to be voted off in order to get back at Duncan (who had just then gotten romantically involved with her). He later sees Heather's breasts on accident during a challenge, which leads him to fail the challenge and be eliminated. Unlike most, Harold was content with his loss (mainly due to being able to see bare breasts before he left) and reveals that he wrote a romantic haiku to LeShawna, revealing his crush on her. The two embrace in a kiss and he leaves the island.
At Playa Des Losers, Courtney is hunting him down after she learns about how she was eliminated. He asks Trent for food, which Trent concedes to, but Ezekiel considers him a "traitor." During the Total Drama Island special, LeShawna broke up with Harold, saying their relationship went too fast and the moment on the Dock of Shame was just a fleeting, emotional moment. Harold seems to have accepted the break up, though afterwards he promises he will win her over eventually and then rambles on in the Confessional stall about how they will possibly move in together (specifically in his mother's basement) when they are thirty years old. LeShawna so far seems unaware of his intentions. During the challenge to find the million dollar case, he befriended Heather after she opened up about her insecurities after being rendered alone like he currently was. It is debatable if an actual relationship will come from this, considering Harold is still determined to win over LeShawna (who hates Heather).
[edit] Total Drama Action
Harold's character has seen to change a bit this season. He's shown to be more talkative, more ready then ever to show off his "mad skills", and is considered to be the comic relief of the season. Harold also seems to have dropped some of his old habits such as saying "gosh." Throughout the season, Harold is shown still trying to win LeShawna over (though is tricked into eliminating her and breaks his heart). Before Geoff was eliminated, Harold shared a bunk bed with him. Harold's rivalry with Duncan plays a much bigger role in this season. Harold is constantly trying to prove his mad skills, but is constantly overshadowed by Duncan, as very few seem to notice him. In addition, Duncan continues to bully Harold out of anger of Courtney's elimination on Total Drama Island. As a result, the two are always going at it with each other, but have been able to put their differences aside when necessary. In certain occasions, the two have shown somewhat of a friendship towards each other (though neither will let go of their feud with the other). Interestingly (starting in Super Hero-Id) Harold starts to take over Owen's role of comic relief, including having his own gas gags.
Despite Harold's claims to have keen senses to allow him to know when someone is nearby, he is completely oblivious to Chef Hatchet being right behind him in Alien Resurr-eggtion and is the first one to be shot down. Harold seems to have a deluded view of his relationship with LeShawna, even claiming that she is undressing him with her eyes; meanwhile, LeShawna claims in the confessional (quite confidently) that they are not meant to be. Harold is recruited on Gwen's team, the Screaming Gaffers in Riot On Set. Though he attempts to sell himself by informing everyone of his expert knowledge of movie-making and movies in general, no one seems to care and Gwen only chose Harold if only to shut him up. He was the last castmate chosen for Gwen's team.
In Beach Blanket Bogus, Harold is shown to think quite highly of himself and his bottom. Though he is in alliance with Heather, Heather still has no interest in speaking with him. Though Harold frequently speaks highly of himself in his confessionals, he is often met with failure, though he proves to be an expert sandcastle-builder during the second part of the challenge and surprisingly takes a leadership-like role in the project. Unfortunately, none of this visibly impresses LeShawna. He is the one who informs Gwen that Trent became obsessed with the number nine ever since Trent became interested in her. Duncan kicks sand into Harold's face after their team wins the competition, saying it was because he actually had wild dancing moves, but this would only foreshadow worse incidents to come between the two.
As of 3:10 to Crazytown, Duncan has gone back to his ways of regularly torturing Harold like he did last season, but this time he has a reason for it: he found out that it was solely Harold who got Courtney eliminated from Total Drama Island. While Harold continues to be a great asset to his team and again helps them win the western challenge in this episode, he is extremely susceptible to Duncan's constant pranking, (Duncan landing on him in a bad position he says: "I think you broke my coccyx") which quickly gets LeShawna's attention. Though she has said that she and Harold were not meant to be, she is becoming angry at Duncan for picking on Harold.
In The Chefshank Redemption, Harold often complains about the prison challenge, and the people around him. After Gwen breaks a shovel over his back, he says that he is both scared and attracted to her, but quickly adds not to tell this to LeShawna, Heather, or Gwen. He, along with LeShawna, Heather, and Gwen herself voted Gwen out of the competition.
In One Flu Over the Cuckoos, LeShawna's liking of Harold becomes more apparent as she defends him from Duncan's antics. During the hospital challenge, Duncan pulls down Harold's pants and tries to stick a rectal thermometer in his mouth when he and all of the other castmates fall ill, and LeShawna sticks up for him both times. However, he refuses to join an alliance with her and Duncan, as he hates the latter bitterly. He is also the first character to reveal their last name: Harold Norbert Cheever Doris McGrady the Fifth. He's very embarrassed about the 'Doris' part.
In Masters of Disasters, Harold reveals that he had to have his kidneys swapped because he had a rare kidney condition that had them in the wrong spots. Harold proves his worth by unlocking the hatch of the submarine during the second challenge, using the skills that he had picked up a "Picky Steve's Lock Picking Camp". This saved the entire cast from drowning during the challenge as the whole thing had gone horribly wrong. In addition, LeShawna still might have feelings for Harold, for when Owen was being sent to a hospital in the film lot, LeShawna snuggles with Harold, and when Harold says he has mad skills in unlocking codes LeShawna agrees with him.
In Full Metal Drama, Harold's rivalry with Duncan reaches it's maximum point as the two believe the other is useless as a team mate. Though Harold tries hard to show his skills, the Gaffers choose to follow Duncan's planning instead. During the third challenge, Harold and Heather attempt to hold back a major gas bubble LeShawna is putting out in an attempt to keep their underground ditch hidden. Ultimately the two fail and the team attempts to retreat. Harold blocks Duncan's way and orders him to admit that he is not completely useless (to which Duncan agrees in order to escape the gassed up hole). The Grips then charge to capture the Gaffers' chest, Harold prepares for battle with his Yo-Yo's armed. Duncan then forces some gas out of LeShawna, creating a smoke screen and allowing Harold to swiftly knock out the opposing team and win the challenge. Duncan and Harold then admit each others' good skills. When Harold and Duncan open the prize, they find it to be empty.
In Ocean's Eight - Or Nine, he starts to agree with Duncan and Heather about LeShawna, especially when in the Make-Up Confessional, he was seen saying LeShawna was only looking out for herself and stating how bad she was (even though her "badness" intrigued him). During this episode, Harold still gets much grief from Duncan and Heather, as seen by their constant uses of saying "Shut Up" or "Be Quiet" to him. During the bank vault challenge, Harold is shown to still have somewhat feelings for LeShawna. As LeShawna was the team member to be left in the vault, Duncan says that their team doesn't need her or the bank robbing equipment inside; as he and Heather leave, Harold said that it was a terrible idea to leave LeShawna, but is unable to convince the other Gaffers. Upon Courtney's return, Harold, ironically, doesn't find this as bad news considering he was the main person she didn't like last season, and she wasn't angry at him. Shockingly, throughout the rest of the challenges, he, the one who was most concerned, did not even ask about LeShawna any more; causing her to possibly remain in the vault until the next challenge. When the Gaffer's reward is shown ( "Chris Bucks") Harold revealed that he hates Chris's smile sometimes.
At the start of One Million Bucks B.C., Harold lost his glasses after taking a shower. He did not believe Duncan 's warning about the soap before tripping on it. While the guys were laughing Harold says he is comfortable in his own skin. During the first part of the challenge, Harold is chased by prehistoric beavers while Chris, Chef and Duncan watch. Duncan tripped Harold and the beavers took Harold away until LeShawna saved him. Then he is shown around a campfire with Heather, Duncan and LeShawna. LeShawna is holding him. In the second part of the challenge, Harold revealed that he has a fear of animatronic prehistoric beavers. Later he gets attacked by a prehistoric bird because Chris gave him an egg as a consolation prize. Harold and LeShawna tried to cook the egg in the end.
In Million Dollar Babies, Harold had to face Lindsay in the first part of the challenge for them doing the worst in the warm-ups. He was knocked out by her but won because he did great slow motion. Harold, along with everyone else, were both mad at LeShawna when she made rude comments about the other contestants while she was heading over to the spa with her cousin LeShaniqua from Courtney's PDA. Harold immediately forgives LeShawna when she made an apologetic cheer to everyone and votes Heather off along with Duncan to keep LeShawna safe.
By Dial M for Merger, Harold finally agrees to join the alliance with Duncan and LeShawna, as they help each other through the laser course. The tension between him and Duncan continued to rise as they insulted each other while trying to defuse their bombs. As of now it is unknown how the alliance will hold as LeShawna and himself aren't too fond of Courtney, unlike Duncan.
In Super Hero-ld, Duncan puts a burrito in Harold's pocket and kicks him. Justin later convinced Harold (and Duncan) to join in Justin's alliance. Harold also talks about his favorite superhero, Owl Man (possibly a parody to Batman or Night Owl). Harold comes up with his own superhero name, Captain Alberta and was in the lead during the obstacle course challenge, only to lose by Courtney. Harold refused to vote for LeShawna after Duncan and Justin convinced him to do it. He was also asked by Beth to vote for Duncan and by Courtney to vote for LeShawna respectively. In the end, Harold chose to vote for LeShawna and broke down in front of her after it was revealed that she got sent home. LeShawna tells Harold that he should do his best to remain in the show as she leaves. After LeShawna left, Duncan heads over to Harold and tells him that he has another burrito in his pocket and kicks him again. Harold wished that he should do well and Chris pushes him down as he was closing the show, causing Chris to break Harold's glasses.
Harold misses LeShawna in The Princess Pride. He won Duncan 's biggest burrito contest after creating a burrito in LeShawna's likeness. Harold was the "Eighth Dwarf" in the blindfolded Bridge crossing challenge. He dedicated his crossing to LeShawna and showed he can run blindfolded. Harold thinks Courtney's song was beautiful and asks for a copy. Harold says that it reminds him of LeShawna but LeShawna says if that song reminds Harold of her, she will have to kill him. During the princess saving challenge, Harold got the shortest sword and helped Justin take down Duncan. Justin later betrayed Harold and Harold was a little miffed. In the end, Harold did say good bye to Justin.
In Get a Clue, Harold is shown to enjoy being a detective and playing dramatic music. He set a trap, in Rube Goldberg fashion, in order to get a DNA sample from Duncan, which ended up failing, causing him to get a sample from Beth instead. Harold also performs CPR on Chris, revealing that he is a trained paramedic. Later in the challenge, Harold teams up with Courtney to try to stop the train, but they do not end up being able to do so. Instead, Courtney is discovered to be the "murderer" and Harold turns on her at the last minute.
In Rock n' Rule, he is happy that Owen has returned, he plays the guitar rather well, so well, that is catches fire due to his fast fingers. In the next part of the challenge, Duncan calls him Doris and he breaks all of the cardboard cutouts, and has a breakdown when finished, Chris later comments saying "If that's not a cry for help, I don't know what is.". In the part where the contestants have to trash a hotel room, Harold does very badly, attempting to break a telephone, but failing. He later voted for Duncan to be voted off along with Beth and Lindsay, However there plan failed when Lindsay accidentally voted herself off.
In Crouching Courtney, Hidden Owen, Harold, while going to sleep, realizes that he is covered in snails. He finds one that (in Harold's Mind, looks like LeShawna) and names it LeShawna Jr.. Duncan trains Harold throughout the first part of the challenge, but Harold struggles with Duncan's unusual methods. It is during this training when we find out that Harold has a "killer left-hook" when he throws his fist through a punching-bag and grasps Duncan's throat after Duncan claims to have kissed LeShawna to motivate Harold into punching the bag harder during the training. Harold is then up against Beth when the two have to fight in robot costumes. When Harold and Duncan win, the two must climb a steep mountain. He later shows signs of friendship to Duncan, but is reminded by Owen that he should try to win. Owen reminded him by saying that LeShawna Jr. was telling him something. He surprisingly shows a tough side, and once Duncan says that LeShawna is similar to a freight train, Harold throws Duncan's glass of tea in his eyes and punches him in the face. Harold wins the episode's reward. At the end, Harold lets LeShawna Jr. into the wild, and was crying like crazy as LeShawna Jr. was going away.
, Harold pulls his own prank on Duncan by filling his mattress with rocks. Through out the episode, Harold winds up with Duncan's pet tarantula, Scruffy, on him. Eventually he squashes Scruffy by accident during the third challenge, which Duncan gets mad at. He was on the Vomit Comet for the least amount of time though, for about five seconds. Beth alsostarts to think that Harold likes her and she breaks up with Brady to start a relationship with Harold. Harold says he couldn't date Beth because it wouldn't be fair to Heather or LeShawna, hinting that he still likes them. Beth later kisses Harold (while covered in vomet) and he faints. Harold later does calculations and started to believe Owen was a cheater. Harold is later voted off by Owen to cover his tracks and by Duncan for squashing Scruffy (Courtney may have also voted for him.) He was taken away right before he got the chance to count Owen out as a cheater. He did however get to pants Duncan before he left, to which Duncan responded, that he "probably had that coming".In The Aftermath: IV Harold suggests a contortionist challenge to break the tie. Beth and Duncan goes along with it but ends in a tie again. Harold's "question" was the finalists had to draw a fictional animal. He like Beth's Haricorn with wings but was impressed with Duncan's samurai sword/fighter plane drawing.
[edit] Audition tape
In his audition tape, Harold shows everyone his scout badges and then he plays his keyboard, which promptly falls over. The audition ends in darkness with Harold's wheezing in the background.
[edit] Camp TV
Like many others, Harold was originally a camper included in Total Drama Island's prototype version, Camp TV. He seemed to be a member of a trio that consisted of himself, Cody and Beth. He has a small role in the promo when he asks where his ant farm is, only to say "Never mind" once Lindsay is running off and screaming while being covered by the ants. Harold's voice is much deeper, comical, and rather like Barney Rubble's from The Flintstones. Interestingly, the fact that he owns an ant farm is carried over into Total Drama Island. Harold's design doesn't differ from his current appearance today. The only differences in his appearance is that his shirt has writing on it instead of the hamburger picture, his pink undershirt loosely hung out from the bottom of his blue shirt and he had a pink collar instead of the small green turtle neck.
[edit] Trivia
- Harold returned to Total Drama Action as a competitor.
- Harold will return for Total Drama, the Musical and is one of the few males to be in all three seasons along with Owen, DJ, and Duncan (at least confirmed).
- Harold is the only contestant whose full name has been revealed.
- It is implied that Harold may have a small crush on Gwen. In The Chefshank Redemption, he says he is strangely attracted to her after she hit him over the head with a shovel. Harold is the third character to be attracted to Gwen (the others being Cody and Trent).
- He is one of several characters to show a form of nudity:
- In If You Can't Take The Heat... when he wakes up on his bed naked to see all of the girls laughing at him.
- In One Million Bucks B.C. when Harold slips on some soap that he dropped in the trailer, causing his towel to fly off right in front of Justin and Duncan.
- Harold was the last person to be voted off before the teams dissolved in TDI (meaning the campers no longer competed team against team).
- He saved the Killer Bass from losing several times and also helped the Screaming Gaffers in Total Drama Action, but he still remains unpopular.
- Duncan, along with Geoff and sometimes DJ, constantly prank Harold (though given DJ and Geoff's personalities, they may be doing it as friendly competing).
- Harold made an enemy in both Courtney and Duncan after rigging the votes to eliminate her in Basic Straining.
- Harold (along with Gwen, Heather, Duncan, and LeShawna) is the only character who played a significant role in winning challenges and/or immunity for himself or his team more than twice (in Dodgebrawl, Not Quite Famous, Masters of Disasters and Full Metal Drama).
- Harold ties with Heather in having the most instances of receiving the final marshmallow during the Campfire ceremony: three times (in The Big Sleep, Who Can You Trust?, and Basic Straining).
- Harold is one of the tallest characters on the show.
- In Million Dollar Babies while LeShawna is cheering about Harold, she stands on her tiptoes, and even then she does not reach his height.
- Harold is the third tallest character.
- Interestingly, Harold never came in the bottom two of any eliminations except the one where he was eliminated, except in season 1, episode 2.
- Mark Thornton confirmed that Harold's eyes are simply dots, like DJ's, Chris McLean's, and Beth's. This is shown in One Million Bucks, B.C. when he loses his glasses. Also in Super Hero-ld when Chris knocks him over and breaks his glasses.
- A running gag in the show is regardless of what he's wearing, Harold always keeps his sneakers on (even in his swimsuit and and caveman outfits which most characters walk around bare foot in).
- In fact, Harold has only seen barefoot 3 times in the series (All in Total Drama Action)
- Since in Not So Happy Campers - Part 1, he mentions to Chef Hatchet that he gets hypoglycemic if he does not get enough sugar daily. From this, it can be inferred that he has Type I Diabetes.
- Harold seems to know some form of martial arts, having performed several poses thereof throughout Total Drama Island, although during said season, he appears mostly inept at it. He apparently has some kind of strength at it, though, as shown in Monster Cash (he knocks out Trent with a karate chop, though he may have just hit him in a vital spot or could have been a one-time gag). He has also shown proficiency with a few odd weapons, such as nunchucks and Yo-yos, even having taken out four of the Killer Grips with them, albeit with an assist from Duncan (and LeShawna's gas).
- Harold owns a red ant farm, which was dumped into Heather's bed in Not Quite Famous by Gwen and is mentioned in the promo.
- He did not speak for three episodes straight (The Sucky Outdoors, Phobia Factor, and Up the Creek).
- Harold was the first one shown to bring his luggage to the Boat of Losers along with him.
- Harold is an obvious knockoff of Napoleon Dynamite, though he more closely resembles Kip (from the same movie) in physical appearances. He also shares a similar speech pattern with the titular character of said movie.
- It is noteworthy that Kip gets married to a woman named LaFawnduh at the end of the movie; this parallels Harold's currently unrequited love for LeShawna (possibly implying that they will get back together; though this might more explain why he gained a crush on her in the first place as she is sometimes called LaFawnduh by Lindsay).
- In Super Hero-ld when Duncan crushed the burrito in Harold's pocket, that could have been a reference (or parody) of when Napoleon gets kicked in the pocket, with the tater tots in his pocket.
- Harold is one of the two characters to have a friendly conversation with Heather without being in her alliance; the other being Bridgette in Brunch of Disgustingness (although Heather was obviously faking it to get Bridgette to join her alliance, to which she seemed to be oblivious about).
- Along with Cody, and Izzy, Harold is one of the few characters who wet his pants. Like Cody, he did so unwillingly, and was ashamed of it.
- Chris mentioned that the other two producers hate him.
- Harold has been hit in the groin more than any other male character on the show.
- Harold seems to be ambidextrous.
- He seems to be right-handed most of the time, but in 3:10 to Crazytown, he is seen writing with his left hand in the confessional stall.
- He is one of 3 characters to suck their thumb (the others being Trent and DJ):
- At the beginning of X-Treme Torture, he sucks his thumb while sleeping.
- He has contracted more than 300 different types of diseases, but has been vaccinated for almost all of them.
- Harold accidentally revealed in a confessional that he wears a wizard's cape when playing solitaire, and that he owns a teapot collection.
- Harold is one of the several people to have a crying fit. This was when he let LeShawna Jr. go.
- Harold is the only Gaffer to not be in the competition after the teams were dissolved on Total Drama Island. Gwen, LeShawna, Heather, DJ, and Duncan were all Gaffers that stayed in the competition.
- Harold has learned several of his skills from camps owned by a man named Steve at Magic Steve's Magical Magic Camp and other Steve camps Picky Steve's Lock Picking camp, Medieval Steve's Medieval Camp, etc.
- All three of Harold's relationships are broken up, unconfirmed, or had only a few references for attraction.
- Harold and Izzy have some similarities.
- Harold is the only male character that has red hair and Izzy is the only female character with red hair.
- Interestingly, both he and Izzy have green eyes, wear green as part of their clothing, and are said to be intelligent.
- They may both be of Scottish descent, as Harold's last name implies Scottish, and in Riot on Set, Izzy uses a Scottish accent when impersonating her great-great grandmother.
- They both wore different outfits for their audition video then the ones they wear in the show.
- Harold (along with Alejandro, Duncan, Ezekiel, Chef, Chris and DJ) has facial hair.
- Harold shares a similar stereotype with Beth, Noah, and Cody.
- Throughout Total Drama Island and Total Drama Action, Harold shows attraction to seeing "boobies".
- In X-Treme Torture, he is mesmerized by seeing Heather's boobies.
- In 3:10 to Crazytown, he says in the confessional (happily), "I have cow boobies on my head!" (actually the udder hats).
- In Full Metal Drama, when Duncan says, "I'm going to go set some booby traps," Harold giggles in the confessional, "He said 'booby'!"
- He seems to be easily influenced by Heather, in Basic Straining after getting repeatedly pranked by Duncan he got Courtney voted off and was very pleased, he has started to look down on some of his fellow cast mates and has even started to follow her.
- He and Ezekiel are the only characters who have picked their noses on-screen. Coincidentally, they also both have goatees.
- Harold is one of few characters to be featured as a Nood on Cartoon Network's bumpers.
- Million Dollar Babies marks the first time his name is called first at an elimination ceremony.
- In Million Dollar Babies shows Harold sleeping with a teddy bear similar to an item called DJ's bear on Total Drama Island: Totally Interactive, and the Teddy Bear that Eva threw out the window of the Killer Bass cabin in The Big Sleep.
- It is revealed in Super Hero-ld that Harold's favorite super hero is "Owl Man" which in reality, is a Batman super villain.
- His favorite Hero being "Owl-Man", however, may not actually be a reference to Batman.
- In Super Hero-ld, Harold makes his super hero name Captain Alberta, hinting that Alberta, Canada is possibly where he's from.
- It is interesting to note that, in Total Drama Action, Harold has helped vote off all three girls that he has (possible) attraction for.
- Harold owns a large electric keyboard as well as a smaller version as revealed in Get A Clue
- Harold is the only male character to wear glasses and only one of two people to wear glasses.
- Harold has had a "kidney switch" at some point in his life.
- As revealed in Masters of Disasters, when he was born his right kidney was where his left kidney should've been and his left kidney was where his right kidney should've been. So he had gotten them surgically "switched" at some point.
- In Get a Clue, we find out he is a licensed paramedic and is able to perform CPR.
- In Get a Clue he is shown to be very fond of trains, owning a model train himself.
- In one episode Harold's glasses broke but then in the next episode he had them on with no indication of it being broken.
- This may indicate that Harold has one more pair of glasses.
- Harold is the only camper who breathes from his mouth.
- However, in Crouching Courtney, Hidden Owen, he says that he can breathe easier after the Second Segment of the challenge was over, hinting he may not breathe from his mouth as much, if at all.
- Despite being looked down on, Harold is one of the most skilled contestants: being able to save the contestants' and host's life, beat boxing, knocked out the entire Killer Grips team, set a guitar on fire just by playing it,doing push ups with the weight of a moose and Duncan on top of him, and building a complex electrical game in less than 5 seconds.
- Harold, DJ, Lindsay, Gwen, and Duncan are the only contestants to currently have pets.
- Harold- His red ant farm and LeShawna Jr..
- Harold is the only contestant to have a pet seen in every season. In this case, a Red Ant farm and LeShawna Jr.
- Harold is the first male in the Total Drama series to win individual immunity.
- He seems to be a very lonely individual in the past; case in point, when LeShawna was gone he started to resemble in every episode something that would remind him of Leshawna:
- In The Princess Pride, he made a burrito of LeShawna and even heard to Courtney's soundtrack to think of LeShawna, much to her annoyance.
- In Crouching Courtney, Hidden Owen, he found a snail that for him resembled LeShawna in figure and voice
- Harold and Beth kiss in 2008: A Space Owen. This makes him the third guy to have been kissed by two diffrent girls, the others being Trent and Duncan.
- Harold has appeared in 18 episodes of Total Drama Island, not counting TDI Rundown
- Strangely, Harold has been in the bottom two four times in Total Drama Island, while he was in the bottom two once in Total Drama Action.

- Harold killed Scruffy, Duncan's pet spider in 2008: A Space Owen.

- Harold being eliminated in Total Drama Action is a slight reference to Resident Evil, as Harold is eliminated before he could tell everyone that Owen is a traitor, as Enrico is killed before he could tell Jill that Wesker is a traitor.
- Harold is the second person to be seen owning a weapon, in his case, nun-chucks. The other person is Duncan.
- Harold placed 5th on Total Drama Action, this is the same place that LeShawna received on Total Drama Island. His elimination makes it the very 1st time in the Total Drama Series to have a couple (LeShawna and Harold) eliminated on the same place in different seasons.
- Harold's elimination in 2008: A Space Owen made it the 1st time in the Total Drama Series to have been eliminated on an episode with another contestant's name in the title.
- Harold's eliminations might be associated with the unlucky number 13. He placed 13th in TDI, he was voted off in the thirteenth episode of TDI, and was voted off 13th in TDA (order of elimination, not his rank).
- Harold is the second male that seems to have more relationships
- He has a friend-lover thing going with Leshawna
- He sort of feels attracted to Heather
- He admitted in The Chefshank Redemption that he was attracted by Gwen
- Beth developed a crush on him in 2008: A Space Owen
- Harold kissed or was kissed by a female competitor in both episodes where he was eliminated.
- Harold is one of the few competitors that competes for all three seasons in the Total Drama Series.
- In 2008: A Space Owen, it is revealed that Harold loves a good cat fight, but with real cats who wear tiny boxing cloves.
- Harold reveals to have watched Race to Save Space 3 in 2008: A Space Owen.
- Both times he was eliminated, Harold left with a secret: In X-treme Torture, he left with only himself knowing that he had seen Heather's breasts (at least, initially). In 2008: A Space Owen, he left with the knowledge that Owen was a mole, also something that only he knew.
- With this episode, it could be told that Harold“s different pet is a cat.
- All of the girls that have some sort of relationship with Harold (whether one-sided or an actual relationship) were on the Screaming Gophers in Total Drama Island.
- Harold is the last Screaming Gaffer to be voted off.
- Harold, along with Duncan and Beth is one of the three people to be in every episode of Total Drama Action .
- Harold is one of the few contestants (the other being Gwen) to mention their rank in the competition. Harold questions his fifth place in Total Drama Action when he is voted off.
- Harold has been hit in the groin more than any other male in the show. The second being Duncan. (Counting Flashbacks and TDA Aftermath: "That's gonna leave a mark" segment.)
