Chef's Illegal Alliance

Chef's Illegal Alliance was formed by Chef Hatchet in Riot on Set. Consisting of himself and DJ (though Chef had attempted to form the alliance previously in the same episode with Izzy), the purpose of the alliance was to help DJ "Man Up", but Chef's main intention was to get DJ to share the million dollars with him in the event of DJ winning Total Drama Action.

In this episode, DJ refuses to pull a heavy trailer up a hill. Chef says he sees himself in DJ, and feels the need to toughen him up. This leads to the two creating an alliance. The deal was that if DJ wins the $1,000,000 prize, he splits the money with Chef. After the Screaming Gaffers win the challenge, DJ is quick to chide Chef for crying, though this is abrupt, as Chef reminds him that he had been the judge in this case, hinting a fix.

Chef reminds DJ that if they kick sand in someones face that DJ had better be the one doing the kicking. When DJ's trunks are ripped off and he runs away nude, Chef scolds him and says that the body is a beautiful thing, and that he does not need a suit.

During her interview, Izzy reveals that Chef Hatchet offered her the alliance before he offered it to DJ, which is followed by a clip of it. After Chef offers, Izzy replies by kicking him in the stomach, refusing. She appears to know that Chef threw the challenge for DJ, but she seemed fine by it.

Chef lets DJ help him with the cooking and occasionally acts as his mentor, though DJ seem to find out that Chef has a soft side as well, and is not always the tough guy he appears to be.

DJ is forced to help Chef cook the pizza. He is also pressured, to later deny his involvement in adding laxitives to the pizza.

Chef spends the entire episode ensuring that DJ's team wins the challenges, but is ultimately caught in the act and disciplined by the producers. DJ starts feeling extremely guilty for his dishonest actions after his conscience (in the form of his mother) tells him to quit lying and cheating. The alliance comes to an end in this episode as DJ confesses to everyone about his and Chef's alliance, leading to his elimination.

A clip is shown during the show on how Chef helped DJ. DJ got massages, good food, vitamins, and even packages from home. In the confessional it seemed like DJ liked having this alliance and appeared eager to win the competition despite the obvious deceit. However, it turns out that Chef pretty much scared DJ into the alliance, even forcing him into staging the aforementioned confessional. The alliance has done little to hurt the competitors' trust in him as most of them realize that DJ was a victim of Chef's scheming.

- This is the only alliance so far in the series that involves a character that is a staff member, and, therefore, not a contestant.
